Girls receive so many mixed messages about what it means to be a woman in our culture.
The Becoming A Woman Workshop invites girls to learn about their changing bodies through a deeper understanding of the menstrual cycle and their connection to the rhythms of the earth. Through story, shared wisdom, and the support of the women gathered in circle, they are encouraged to build a relationship with their bodies that is grounded in respect, trust, and connection.
In these simple yet profound ways, the girls begin to recognise the wisdom within themselves. They develop a deeper understanding of their bodies and intuition, while opening a conversation with their mothers/carers that can continue to support them throughout their lives.
This workshop is a beautiful offering for girls standing at the doorway of their first bleed (or those who have just begun), and for the women who walk beside them. Rooted in the teachings of the School of Shamanic Womancraft, this circle honours menarche as an important transition, one to be acknowledged and celebrated, not hidden away or rushed through.
Together we will gently explore the menstrual cycle, the inner seasons, and the changes that unfold as a girl begins this new chapter of her life. Through ritual, creative expression, and circle sharing, each girl will be supported to meet her changing body with greater understanding and a sense of belonging.
Becoming A Woman is a weaving of ancient wisdom and grounded guidance, creating a space where our daughters, and the daughters of our community, can cross this threshold feeling witnessed, supported, and celebrated.
The workshop is held over two gatherings, with the first session being for mothers/mother figures only, and the second bringing everyone together.
This gathering offers a space to reflect on your own journey into womanhood and the experiences that have shaped your relationship with your body and your cycle.
Together we share stories, explore ways to support our daughters through this transition, and prepare for the conversations and connection that will unfold in the gathering that follows.
Held in circle, this gathering is an interactive and nourishing experience where we explore the rhythms of the female body, the menstrual cycle, and the connection between our inner seasons and the cycles of nature.
Through story, creativity, ritual, and a shamanic drum journey, mothers and daughters are invited to deepen their connection, strengthen trust, and honour this special time together.
For girls aged 10–14 (sometimes earlier) and their Mothers/mother figures.

This offering is deeply personal to me.
Like so many women, my own experience of entering womanhood was not something that was consciously celebrated or honoured. It was simply a moment that happened, without the deeper understanding of the significance of this transition or the wisdom held within it.
Through my own journey, my work with women, and now as a mother of a daughter myself, I have come to understand the importance of being consciously held through these thresholds of life. The way we are welcomed into womanhood can shape the relationship we have with our bodies, our cycles, and ourselves for many years to come.
For many years I have held women through the powerful thresholds of birth and motherhood, witnessing the incredible wisdom of the female body and the importance of being supported through these life-changing transitions. This work has shown me that the way we are held as we cross these thresholds matters, and that the stories we carry about our bodies often begin much earlier than we realise.
When girls are supported to understand and honour their bodies from the beginning, we create the possibility for a different relationship with themselves, their cycles, and their own inner wisdom. A relationship rooted in trust, connection, and respect, rather than shame or disconnection.
My work is centred around creating spaces where women and girls can reconnect with their bodies, their stories, and the deeper wisdom held within their own experiences.
I offer this workshop knowing that our daughters deserve to be welcomed into this journey with the understanding, reverence, and support that so many of us longed for.
A different story can begin here.
“At menarche, we welcome our daughters into womanhood, celebrating and honouring them, ready, willing and able to be the support they need as they transition into womanhood. We teach them what we have learned and we guide them with women’s wisdom.” – Jane Hardwicke Collings.
