Becoming A Woman Workshop

Girls receive mixed messages about what it is to be a woman in this culture.

Through the Becoming A Woman Workshop, girls are educated about their bodies, inspired by their connection with the earth and her cycles, empowered through story and shared wisdoms and deeply supported by the women within the circle.

In these simple and profound ways they come to know themselves as powerful and important. They develop respect for their bodies and their intuition and they open an ongoing conversation with their own mothers which will support them throughout their lives.

This workshop is a tender and powerful initiation space for girls standing at the doorway of their first bleed (or they’ve just begun), and for the women who walk beside them. Rooted in the teachings of the School of Shamanic Womancraft, this circle honours menarche as a rite of passage, not something to hide, rush, or medicalise.

Together we will gently explore the wisdom of the menstrual cycle, the inner seasons, emotional literacy, embodied boundaries, and the awakening of intuitive knowing. Through story, ritual, creative expression, and circle sharing, each girl will be supported to meet her changing body with reverence and confidence.

Becoming A Woman is a weaving of ancient remembering and grounded guidance, so our daughters, and the daughters of our community, cross this threshold feeling celebrated, informed, and deeply held.

The workshop is held over 2 days, with the first 2-3 hr session being for Mothers only, and the second 3-4 hr session for both Mothers and daughters.

For girls aged 10-14 (sometimes earlier) and their Mothers.
